Governor DeWine announces funding for water projects

LIMA — Governor Mike DeWine has announced funding to several different infrastructure water projects in the state of Ohio. According to a recent press release, the grants will help fund 90 water projects totaling $135 million.

“My colleagues and I in the General Assembly made a serious commitment to protecting Ohio’s water quality,” Senate President Matt Huffman (R-Lima) said in a recent press release.“From Lake Erie to Indian Lake to our drinking water aquifers, this grant money makes a difference to our neighborhoods here at home in the 12th District.”

The program focuses on broadband, utilities, infrastructure and local development success (Ohio BUILDS).

“From the first dollar awarded through this program to now, we’ve made hundreds of transformative investments in the future of our communities,” DeWine said in a recent press release. “Having a strong water infrastructure not only safeguards the health and well-being of our residents, but it makes our neighborhoods more resilient and better prepares local leaders for sustainable economic growth.”

Local projects include:

• Allen Water District, $439,000

• Auglaize County Board of Commissioners, $129,900

• Village of Cridersville, $725,000
