Elida names Howard its next boys basketball coach

Elida High School has announced that pending board approval, Ryan Howard has been hired as the new head coach of the boys basketball program.

Howard has been a varsity assistant for the last six years, including three years under Denny Thompson and the last three seasons as Matt Tabler’s assistant. It’ll be his first head coaching job.

Elida Athletic Director Dave Evans released the following statement on the hiring of Howard.

“Through the interview process, Coach Howard’s true passion for the Elida boys basketball program and the community continued to stand out. We are thrilled for Coach Howard, his family and our boy’s basketball program. He has a great work ethic, passion and the commitment to succeed at the top level.”
