Realtors weigh local housing market

LIMA —The West Central Association of Realtors 2nd annual affiliate open house was held at the Lima Veterans’ Memorial Civic & Convention Center on Thursday. Over 45 vendors related to the real estate industry participated in this event, which was open to local realtors to connect with home service businesses, trade show style.

Jaylene Smith, a realtor at Dye Real Estate & Land Co. and who also is the current president of the West Central Association of Realtors said, “We’re still in a situation where he have really low inventory. So it’s still a seller’s market right now, even with interest rates. They’re starting to level out where I think we probably going to be for a while, but the market itself is still strong. We’re holding strong with sales prices. We just don’t have the volume that we once had.”

Tug Tavianno, a realtor at CCR Realtors, echoed Smith’s thoughts. When asked how the real estate market was he said, “It’s good if you work at it.”

The real estate market can be influenced by a variety of factors, including economic conditions, interest rates, demographic changes, government policies and natural disasters. Generally, when the economy is strong, unemployment rates are low, and interest rates are favorable, the real estate market tends to perform well. On the other hand, when the economy is weak, unemployment rates are high, and interest rates are unfavorable, the real estate market can be sluggish.

In these strange economic times, the real estate market can change depending on a number of factors. It’s important to research and consult with experts in various fields before making any significant real estate investments or decisions.
