Letter: Seed oils bring their own list of concerns

This is in rebuttal to Deb Balser’s “Best cooking fats for healthy cholesterol levels,” published Jan. 6.

More health-conscious countries are banning all seed oils because of the way they are processed with steam, causing chemicals that harm the heart. The best oils are fruit oils, olive, coconut and avocado.

Health research tells us that countries that only have coconut oil for cooking have no Alzheimer’s disease or dementia. So is it a good idea to consume one tablespoon of coconut oil daily?
