TOLEDO — The Diocese of Toledo has announced the dismissal of Michael Zacharias from clerical state. According to a recent press release, the dismissal came following the trial and conviction for sexual abuse of minors.
“With the imposition of this penalty,” Bishop Daniel Thomas said in the release. “It is my hope and prayer that healing for victims may continue and justice be restored, as we remain vigilant in confronting evil.” The release also states the diocese is committed to providing a safe atmosphere for children and young adults.
