Statewide tornado drill coming Wednesday

LIMA — Allen County will be participating in a statewide tornado warning drill at 9:50 a.m. Wednesday, March 20, according to a release from the Allen County Office of Homeland Security and Emergency Management.

The drill includes a test activation of all 50 Allen County community warning sirens. According to the Allen County EMA, should a warning siren be activated during an actual emergency, all those in the affected area should go indoors immediately and tune in to local news media for more information along with instructions on any emergency actions that need to be taken.

The Allen County EMA encouraged residents to take the opportunity with this drill to ensure that an emergency supply kit is in place and stocked and for household members to practice tornado and fire drills.
