Apollo Career Center awarded LEED Gold Building Certification

LIMA — Apollo Career Center’s recent renovation and new addition project has achieved LEED Gold certification by the U.S. Green Building Council.

LEED, which stands for Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design, sets standards for building construction and operation that will have the least negative impact on the environment and the greatest benefit to the community and the building occupants. LEED certified buildings save money for the school district, but also the taxpayers through numerous environmental and energy efficiencies incorporated into the building design and construction.

Shook Touchstone was the construction manager for the $52.8 million renovation and new addition building project. Partnering with Shook Touchstone for the Apollo Career Center building project was minster based architectural firm, Garmann Miller & Associates.
