Authorities seek information about McComb arson

McCOMB — The state fire marshal’s office is seeking public assistance in relation to a fire that was deliberately set Feb. 28 in McComb.

The fire occurred at 7:02 a.m. at the Northwestern Water and Sewer District in a watershed dispensary building. After the fire was extinguished, it was discovered that the watershed had been broken into with an undisclosed amount of money stolen.

A reward of up to $5,000 is being offered by the Blue Ribbon Arson Committee for information leading to the arrest of those responsible. Anyone with information is asked to call the State Fire Marshal’s Fire & Explosion Investigation Bureau at 800-589-2728 or the McComb Police Department at 419-293-3667.
