LIMA — The Shawnee Police Department investigated a crash that occurred at 6:42 p.m. Monday that resulted in one minor injury.
Blake Jones, 17, of Wapakoneta, was driving a 2000 Pontiac Grand Prix west on Breese Road when the glare from the sun caused him to not see a stop sign at the intersection of state Route 501. He proceeded through the stop sign and struck a 2010 Hyundai being driven by Timothy Kohl, 56, of Springfield.
A passenger in Kohl’s vehicle, Kimberly Kohl, was transported by Shawnee Township Rescue to St. Rita’s Medical Center for treatment of minor injuries.
Both vehicles sustained heavy damage in the accident.
