Oh, what I wouldn’t give to see somebody sashaying down the Academy Awards red carpet next month wearing this. For their fall collection (shown last weekend during New York Fashion Week), designers Kate and Laura Mulleavy of Rodarte went decidedly Gothic, with black-lipsticked models parading around glittery tables and candelabra seemingly set for Miss Havisham’s arrival. This over-the-top dress, I imagine, makes a lovely rustling noise in motion, like the whisper of a very chic ghost.
