LIMA — Raymond Bernacchi is celebrating his 95th birthday with a private dinner with family. A card shower would be appreciated, with cards sent to Bernacchi at 900 Yorkshire Dr.; Lima, OH 45804.
Bernacchi was born Sept. 14, 1927 in Laporte, Ind. to Bruna and Geno Bernacchi. On July 18, 1952 he married Eva Berdene Risser, who died Nov. 18, 2019.
He has two children, Ava Mullenhour, of Indianapolis and Gina Bernacchi of Lima. He has four grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
Ray celebrated his birthday the weekend of Sept. 9 with his daughters, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Ray and Berdene were married for 66 years and they traveled the world together. Bernacchi is a Navy veteran of World War II and in 2015 was invited to go on an Honor Flight to Washington, DC. He is a retired executive of AO Smith and an active member of St. Charles Catholic Church.
