Commissioners approve rebuilding of museum wall

LIMA — Allen County Commissioners recently passed a resolution to continue work on the Allen County Museum. The retaining wall outside of the museum along Market Street is undergoing repairs. According to Allen County Commissioner Brian Winegardner, the original wall began to crumble over 18 months ago. Winegardner said once construction workers began to repair the wall they soon realized it needed more work.

Health department makes improvements

LIMA — Allen County Health department is looking to upgrade. The department requested an electronic medical records upgrade in 2020 once the ARPA funds were made available. Now the department is making plans to move forward. The Allen County Commissioners entered an MOU with the Allen County Combined Health District Thursday morning.

Lima YMCA to host lifeguard certification class

LIMA — The Lima Family YMCA will be hosting a Red Cross Lifeguard Certification class this spring. The classes will be held from 5:30 p.m. to 8 p.m. every Monday and Wednesday during each session. The first session will begin Monday, April 17 until Wednesday, May 3. The second session will begin Monday, May 9 until Wednesday, May 24. The cost is $225 for members and $250 for non-members. Participants must be 15 years of age or older.

Lima YMCA to host youth flag football league

LIMA — The Lima Family YMCA will be hosting a spring flag football league for boys and girls ages 6-8. Registration is now open until Friday, April 7. The league will begin Monday, April 17. The cost is $28 for members and $52 for non-members.
