Commissioners approve rebuilding of museum wall

LIMA — Allen County Commissioners recently passed a resolution to continue work on the Allen County Museum. The retaining wall outside of the museum along Market Street is undergoing repairs. According to Allen County Commissioner Brian Winegardner, the original wall began to crumble over 18 months ago. Winegardner said once construction workers began to repair the wall they soon realized it needed more work.

“This is an ongoing project,” said Winegardner. The resolution passed on Thursday morning approved $15,775 additional monies to the project. Allen County Commissioner Beth Seibert said the county did receive a $50,000 appropriation from the state capital budget as a reimbursement. Seibert also said the project will cost in total around $70,000.
