UNOH buys Harry’s Hideaway

LIMA — The University of Northwest Ohio Development Corporation purchased Harry’s Hideaway so the university can reconstruct the entrance to the UNOH Event Center.

Land transfer records show Harry and Tammi Larschied sold the property, located at 1452 N. Cable Road, Lima, to the UNOH Development Corporation for $600,000 last week. The business had been a dance and night club, providing live DVs, band shows and karaoke.

Stephanie Malloy, vice president of marketing and public relations for UNOH, confirmed the sale in an email to The Lima News on Thursday.

Harry’s Hideaway will likely be demolished, as Malloy said the university plans to remove the building to create a straight driveway at the stoplight at the intersection of Cable Road and College Park West. It would create easier access in and out of the UNOH Event Center, a 25,000-square foot event center at 1450 N. Cable Road, partially behind Harry’s Hideaway.

Harry’s Hideaway celebrated its last night in business on Jan. 18, according to its Facebook page.
