LIMA — Lima surgeon Dr. Jeremy Heffner co-founded Surgery Unified, a privately held company connecting surgeons via the mobile app SurgeOn.
The educational networking app features webinars, surgical videos, networking opportunities and real-time content shared by fellow surgeons.
Heffner and his co-founders “set out to reimagine and then thoroughly reinvent the surgical world to bring it all together in a new way,” according to a press release about Surgery Unified. “The result is a fast-growing community of vetted surgeons elevating their craft, building professional influence and managing their networks.
Heffner said in the release, “As surgeons, we’re taught that if something is broken, we fix it.”
Heffner is the chair of surgery for Lima Memorial Health System. He previously worked as a bioengineer for GE Medical Systems and the National Institutes of Health.
