19 Hawthorne to close out season with final Patio Party

LIMA — Artist Chris Brokamp will be performing at the final Patio Party at 19 Hawthorne and manager Chad Hughes is excited to celebrate the finale.

The show will start at 6 p.m. Thursday at 1000 Fetter Road in Lima.

“We’re just excited to wrap up the season,” Hughes said. “We’re hoping for a big crowd and perfect weather, especially if it’s been like the last couple of days with a breeze and sunny skies. We just want to end the season on a high note.”

The weather has not been kind to the event this year, but the crowds have still shown up to the shows that take place every Thursday starting in May.

“Our patio parties are free and live so we normally have someone playing an acoustic guitar and singing and then we also have a food truck and a cash bar,” Hughes said. “People can come out, eat some dinner and listen to the music. They can enjoy a nice peaceful setting out here on the former Hawthorne Hills Golf Course with rolling hills and a nice pond.”

And Brokamp should be a great choice for the final show.

“He is kind of a local favorite and in several bands,” Hughes said. “But he has performed here before at the beginning of the season. He was here June 22 and he will be the person who ends up closing our season as well.”

But Hughes said the venue is looking forward to making these events even bigger in the future.

“People really like the local music that we’ve been bringing in and we hope to keep expanding that group of artists so hopefully we don’t have any repeats, but we can have a new person every week in future years,” he said.
