Roses and Thorns

It’s hard to imagine anything but roses when the spring weather starts to really become comfortable.

Rose: To Jessica and Adam Moorman, who recently opened Good Vibes Nutrition and Reservation Alley in Lima. It’s nice to see all these new small, family-owned businesses popping up in the region. It’s proof that people still believe in this area’s potential as much as we do. Good luck to them and all the new businesses.

Rose: To new Lima Central Catholic boys basketball coach Sean Powell, who won a state championship at Botkins in 2021 before moving to Bath for two seasons. It’s an exciting transition for area boys basketball teams.

Rose: To Brian Woods, who returned to Spencerville as the district’s new superintendent. We wish him the best of luck maintaining the quality of education there.

Rose: To Mary Kay Verhoff, of Columbus Grove, whose idea will be featured in Friday’s nationally syndicated Pluggers comic strip. It shows a plugger deciding to go back to bed, calling it a “plugger reboot.”
