Dueling Pianos will be entertaining music lovers Friday at Old City Prime.
LIMA — One upcoming Dueling Pianos show at Old City Prime’s Upper Lounge is already sold out, but anyone interested in seeing the act featuring music and comedy will get two more chances after the new year.
A packed house will take in the show on Friday but two more shows, at 8 p.m. Jan. 6 and 7, will bring audiences back to the entertainment section of the Lima steakhouse to see what has become a familiar and highly sought after act to Upper Lounge regulars.
“Well, we’ve been booking Dueling Pianos since the Upper Lounge opened,” said Director of People and Promotions for Good Food Restaurants, Erika Robinson. “They always bring a great crowd and it’s typically a sellout show every time. And I think as time has gone on, Dueling Pianos has just become popular.”
And Robinson expects Dueling Pianos to bring a little extra to the table when they come to the Upper Lounge. Shows with Dueling Pianos are usually filled with laughs along with a wide variety of music, and the audience is truly brought into the show by the talented artists.
“It’s always a great show,” she said. “There is a lot of crowd involvement and lots of requests. Usually, when the crowd requests a lot of songs, they’re able to play about anything. It’s just a lot of fun.”
Robinson said that it is important to be able to bring acts like this to the city of Lima.
“I think the love for live entertainment is still there and people look forward to it,” she said. “We see a lot of the same faces and new faces as well. And it’s just nice to be able to bring live entertainment to Lima on a regular basis.”
And for anyone looking to go to any of the upcoming shows or others at the Upper Lounge, Robinson had a solution.
“They can either stop into Old City Prime and purchase tickets or they can visit oldcityprime.com and there is an entertainment link they can follow,” she said.
