It’s the season where we think more of poinsettias than roses lately.
Rose: To Brian Williams, a Bath graduate who’s living his dream of photographing country music. He got his big break from country star Julie Roberts. He credited the many people who encouraged him along the way.
Thorn: To Christine Simpson, who will spend eight years in prison for a drunk-driving accident in October 2021 that injured four college students.
Rose: To Lima Police Department Officer Logan Patton, who received the Life Saving Service Bar on Thursday. Back on Nov. 12, he performed CPR on an unresponsive man, bringing him from no pulse to breathing on his own and gaining consciousness. He saved the man’s life with his quick thinking.
Thorn: To Broc Baughman, of Ottoville, who was sentenced to 54 months in prison for selling methamphetamine from his home. He had the same sentence from Paulding County just a day before, and those sentences will run at the same time.
