Known drug house in Lima will be razed following another fire

LIMA — The third fire at a vacant building in Lima known by law enforcement officials to be an active drug house will be the last.

A structure at 625 N. Elizabeth St. will be razed “today or tomorrow” after firefighters extinguished a blaze there Wednesday morning, according to a spokesman for the Lima Fire Department.

The cause of the fire in the condemned duplex has been listed as “unknown,” but firefighters were told by neighbors that several people have been squatting, or living illegally, in the structure despite numerous “Do Not Enter” signs posted on the exterior. There has been no electricity at the site for several months.

”The police are aware that it’s a known drug house,” the LFD spokesman said.

According to the Allen County Auditor’s website the dwelling, owned by Natalee Monk of Crestview, Florida, is valued at $60,500.
