BRELAND is country music’s fresh new sound

LIMA — More than a hot opening act for headliner Chris Young at the Allen County Fair, BRELAND brought his own flavor and following with him to the stage Saturday.

Over his career, 27-year-old breakout country artist BRELAND has had the opportunity to work with legendary artists who have huge followings, like four-time Grammy Award-winner Keith Urban. The remix of BRELAND’s song “My Truck,” featuring Sam Hunt, for example, has over 10 million views on YouTube. It went platinum in the U.S. after selling a million copies and double platinum in Canada. His lastest album via Bad Realm Records/Atlantic Records/Warner Music Nashville, called “Cross Country,” will be released September 9.

The title “Cross Country” represents both the many places he’s lived around the U.S. as well as the fact that his music is a cross, or blending, of traditional country sound with many other genres. The album is the culmination of highly original work he’s done over the past two and a half years.

The son of two ministers, BRELAND grew up on gospel music. At 14, he left home to live at a New Jersey boarding school where he was exposed to hip-hop and country rap that left an indelible mark on his musical tastes and career, guiding him toward the sound that would make him a young standout among up-and-coming top artists in the country music scene.

BRELAND studied business at Georgetown University in Washington D.C. and then moved to Atlanta, where he became a prolific songwriter, churing out an unbelievable 2,000 songs in just three years.

His unique sound and collaborations with other artists have offered him the opportunity to reach new audiences.

In June, he appeared on “Today” singing “Praise the Lord” and “Natural.”

According to his tour schedule, BRELAND will be heading to California, Washington State, and Tennessee, and then overseas to Australia and the UK.

“Cross Country” is available today for pre-order at breland.lnk.to/CXC.
