June 22

Tricia K. Unverferth, address confidential, was granted a divorce from Roger D. Unverferth, Ottawa. They were married June 17, 200 and have no minor children.

Kathleen Moser, Leipsic, was granted a divorce from Jason Moser, Columbus Grove. They have four children.

Nicholas Maag, Columbus Grove, and Kennedy Maag, Columbus Grove, were granted a dissolution of marriage. They were married June 17, 2000 and have no minor children.

Brent Volkman, Ottawa, was granted a divorce from Leeann Volkman, Greenville. They were married May 13, 2017 in Deshler and have two children.

June 23

Joseph C. Skiba, 39, Lima, pleaded guilty to an amended charge of driving under the influence of alcohol. He faces up to 180 days jail, and $1,050 in fines. Bond was continued while a presentence investigation is conducted with sentencing set for 9 a.m. Aug. 11. The jury trial scheduled for July 21 and 22 was vacated.

According to reports from the Putnam County Sheriff’s Office, a call was received June 27 about a suspicious person around Road U and Road 17-S in Sugar Creek Township. Units arrived and found Skiba standing in the roadway. He told deputies he drove his vehicle into the river but was not sure exactly where it was located. Deputies located the vehicle off the end of Road U, west of Road 17-S in the middle of the Ottawa River. Sheriff department units were unable to reach the vehicle and requested the Kalida Fire Department for assistance. Skiba was treated at the scene for minor injuries.

Felipe Martinez, 46, Leipsic, was sentenced to 60 days jail for an amended charge of criminal mischief. The jail was suspended pending completion of all counseling and treatment recommended and successful completion of his probation. A charge of domestic violence was dismissed.

June 24

Brandie D. Grandey, 44, Cincinnati, was sentenced to 235 days jail for aggravated possession of a control substance (methamphetamines). She was given credit for time served and was placed on five years community control. She was also referred to the Serenity Haven program.

Putnam County Municipal Court dispositions

June 21

Arthur Hohenbrink, 67, Ottawa, pleaded no contest to domestic violence and was found guilty. Sentence: 30 days jail, 29 days suspended, $150 fine, and complete an assessment at Pathways Counseling Center.

June 23

Zackery C. Okuly, 18, Kalida, pleaded guilty to contributing to the delinquency of a minor. Sentence: 10 days jail, suspended, $250 fine, $150 suspended.

Caleb E. Woten, 20, Delphos, pleaded guilty to OVI. Sentence: 180 days jail, $750 fine, one year license suspension, with credit for three days jail upon completion of DIP. Another charge of OVI and a charge of failure to control were dismissed.

Lance M. Baker, 33, Columbus Grove, pleaded guilty to domestic violence. Sentence: 180 days jail, 175 days suspended, $250 fine.
