Let the postseason begin.

LIMA — The final week of the high school football regular season concluded Saturday afternoon at Spartan Stadium.

LIMA — Lima Senior were able to accomplish something on Friday night that the school hasn’t seen since these players’ parents were in high school, win a conference championship in football with a 26-14 victory against Toledo Start.

WAPAKONETA — Celina had already earned a piece of the Western Buckeye League title, heading into the final week of the regular season.

COLUMBUS GROVE — Columbus Grove’s football team knew all about Bluffton’s streak of seven straight shutouts. The Bulldogs knew all about the Pirates’ top rusher leading the Northwest Conference. They heard about their opponent’s unbeaten record going into a pivotal season finale that would decide the Northwest Conference championship.

MARIA STEIN — Justin Knouff completed 11 of 13 pass attempts for 237 yards and four touchdowns as Marion Local clinched the Midwest Athletic Conference at 10-0 overall and 8-0 in the MAC.

LIMA — There might have been a little skepticism about Lima Senior having a league championship football team going into this season.

The season has had its fair share of excitement but there is still plenty to be decided with conference titles and playoff positions to be won.

LIMA — A rain soaked Spartan Stadium was the setting for a Saturday afternoon affair between the Lima Central Catholic Thunderbirds and the Cardinal Stritch Cardinals. The Thunderbirds were looking to punch a ticket to the playoffs with a win and possible home game in first round.

MCGUFFEY — Upper Scioto Valley kept its hopes of gaining a share of the Northwest Central Conference championship alive with a 24-13 Friday night victory against Hardin Northern.
