Minster in third at D-III state golf tourney

COLUMBUS — Minster is in third place with a 329 total after the first day of the boys Division III state tournament at the par 71 Scarlet Course.

Louis Magoto had the fifth lowest score with a 74 to lead Minster. Bryce Prenger (80), Jack Meyer (82), Reese Beair (93) and Tyler Stueve (93) also posted scores for the Wildcats.

Delphos St. John’s (331) is tied with Seven Hills for fourth.

DSJ’s Collin Feathers is tied for second individually with Independence’s Mark Pillar after each finished with a 72, one shot behind Valley’s Cameron Phillips.

Tyce McClain (80), Parker Will (87), Jackson Kill (92) and Ashton Milligan (96) also competed for the Blue Jays.

Ottoville (349) is in ninth. Evan Altenburger (81), Keaton Schnipke (85), Jace Langhals (89), Blake Kortokrax (94) and

Michael Turnwald (94) played for the Big Green.

Leipsic’s Brevin Brandt is tied for eighth with a 76. Marion Local’s Marcus Rethman finished with a 78 and Delphos Jefferson’s Isaac Gallmeier and Kalida’s Robert Nartker each shot 80.

Newark Catholic and Warren JFK are tied for first at 320.
