Traditionally, becoming an auctioneer in Ohio was a lengthy process that included education requirements, a verbal examination and a time period of acting as an apprentice auctioneer under an already licensed auctioneer. That traditional process prepared auctioneers for the typical, out loud and in-person auctions that have traditionally been what we think of when we think of auctions.

Internet scams are a constant. Luckily, people have become aware of the more well-known schemes. Fewer folks are falling for the bogus promise of winning millions of dollars in the Publishers Clearing House scam. Most also know there really isn’t a Nigerian prince that needs their help to secure his huge inheritance.

President Biden’s student loan forgiveness plan is an unprecedented act of executive fiat. The plan to forgive up to $10,000 in student debt per individual making $125,000 or less will cost taxpayers $240 billion over the next 10 years. It’s patently unjust; it’s probably illegal; but worst of all, it does nothing to address the root causes of the student debt problem.

Last month, the Department of Justice unsealed a case against an Iranian agent charged with plotting the assassination of former U.S. national security adviser John Bolton. In the alleged murder-for-hire scheme, the defendant attempted to pay operatives $300,000 to carry out the assassination on American soil.

Someone once said that they will confess if you torture the data enough. Even still, it is difficult to manipulate the data to the point where you can justify the White House’s student loan handout. Simply put, the numbers do not add up.
