Cemetery walk will highlight Civil War veterans

LIMA — The Allen County Chapter of the Ohio Genealogical Society will host its annual cemetery walk at the Shawnee Cemetery, 2690 Shawnee Road, beginning at 1:30 p.m. on Saturday, May 18. The walk will highlight the lives of some of the many Civil War soldiers buried there and will also honor one of the chapter’s former members, Helen Jean Spyker.

Bridge to close May 3 for replacement

MONROE TOWNSHIP — The bridge on Olt Road between Ramsey Road and state Route 65 will be closed for approximately eight weeks for replacement, according to a release from the Allen County Engineer’s Office.
