LIMA — U.S. Sen. Sherrod Brown, D-Ohio, announced a new bill to aid in preventing fentanyl from “getting in communities.” According to a recent press release, the goal of the bill is to target the illicit fentanyl supply chain.

LIMA — The Allen County Board of Developmental Disabilities will meet at 7:30 a.m. Friday, Feb. 23, at its office, 2500 Ada Road, Lima, to review financial statements.

WAPAKONETA — Wapakoneta Young Professionals will hold a Lunch and Learn event on Thursday, Feb. 22 from 11:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. at the Auglaize County Public District Library, 203 Perry St., Wapakoneta.

HARDIN COUNTY — The OSU Extension will host an agriculture breakfast. The event will begin at 7:30 a.m. on Thursday, Feb. 22 at the Plaza Inn Restaurant, 491 S. Main St. in Mt. Victory. According to a recent press release, the breakfast will focus on drones. The release also states Alan Leininger will discuss how drones are used to scout weeds and insects.

BLUFFTON — Learn about Cubing will begin Monday, March 11 at 6 p.m. at the Bluffton Public Library, located at 145 S. Main St., Bluffton.

TOLEDO — Auglaize County resident Amanda Hovanec, charged in the death of her estranged husband nearly two years ago, on Wednesday pleaded guilty to four federal charges in U.S. District Court for Northern Ohio.

LIMA — Jurors in the trial of Travon Thomas, the Lima man charged with operating a large-scale drug trafficking ring in Allen County, were sent home early Wednesday with the warning that a full day of testimony awaits them upon their return.

VAN WERT — A Delphos man will be sentenced March 28 after pleading guilty on Wednesday to sex-related charges.
