Shawnee Township Police and schools conduct active shooter training

LIMA — Shawnee Township Police conducted active shooter training with the staff of Shawnee Schools this morning.

Staff members from Shawnee High School and Elmwood Elementary participated in active shooter training. The two locations were chosen by the police because the high school and middle schools have different physical layouts and the different ages of the students.

Any gunsshots heard from the high school from 8 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. and the elementary school from 11:30 a.m. to 2 p.m. were just blanks fired during the training exercise.
