Four finalists named for Allen County ESC Superintendent’s job

LIMA — The search continues for a new superintendent for the Allen County Educational Service Center.

A total of 13 applicants were received and that list was reduced to four finalists.

Board members met Wednesday night to interview two candidates: Craig Kupferberg and Tim Myers. Kupferberg was the former principal at Findlay High School and also was assistant superintendent of the Findlay City Schools. Myers is the former superintendent of the Van Buren Local School District.

On Thursday, the board will meet again in executive session to interview two more candidates: Don Diglia, the former superintendent of Elida Local Schools and the current superintendent of the Ayersville Local School District, and Mindy Schulz, the executive director and superintendent of the West Central Learning Academy.

Former superintendent Steve Arnold announced his departure late last month after agreeing to take the superintendent’s job in the Central Local School District in Defiance County.

Arnold also held the dual position of superintendent of the Western Buckeye Education Service Center in Van Wert and Paulding Counties and as superintendent of the Allen County Education Service Center.

The board, earlier this month, decided to sever that arrangement, choosing a superintendent to only oversee operations of the Allen County ESC.
