Link Lima pilots tutoring program

LIMA — Link Lima announced plans to pilot a math and science tutoring program at Lima Senior High School recently.

Tutoring will mainly be for high school seniors who are struggling with math and science.

Tim Sielschott, of Sielschott Financial Services, offered to donate $1,000 to help fund college tutors.

Sielschott reached out to the University of Northwestern Ohio for tutors and, through the help of University of Northwestern Ohio Dean Tim Fitzpatrick, there are two qualified students as tutors, Jackie Barringer and Sonia Arranz.

Through Link Lima funds, the organization will be able to pay tutors $15 per hour, at least for the pilot.

“We are committed to building these kinds of programs until every student at Lima Senior High has the help they need to succeed in school and participate in a productive career,” Sielschott said.
