Shawnee grad awarded three-year fellowship

LIMA — Cassandra “Cassie” Thompson, of Lima and a 2011 graduate of Shawnee High School, was recently awarded at three-year fellowship in the National Science Foundation Graduate Student Fellowship.

She is a 2015 graduate of Ohio University with a major of Wildlife Conservation Biology. Thompson is currently two years into her PHD program in Ecology and Evolutionary Biology.

The three year fellowship funds $35,000 per year for her research on climate change impacts on amphibians.
