LIMA — The National Merit Scholarship Corp. has announced approximately 16,000 students from around the country as semifinalists for the 63rd National Merit Scholarship Program.
The following three students from the region have been chosen as semifinalists:
Madeline M. Elston, Celina, Celina High School
Erin Keller, Minster, Minster High School
Loren K. Hire, Wapakoneta,Wapakoneta High School
Of the 16,000 semifinalists 15,000 will advanced to the finalist stage. Of those 2,500 senior high school students will be chosen to rewarded a by state-representational basis, $2,500 grants.
