LIMA — A 12-year-old Lima girl will compete as a national finalist in the National American Miss pageant at Disneyland later this year after finishing as third runner-up in a regional competition.
Vanessa Stegg, the daughter of Dario and Autumn Stegg, earned the trip to the national pageant in Anaheim, Calif., during Thanksgiving week with her third-place finish in the talent portion of the regional competition. She will have the opportunity to win a share of more than $500,000 in cash and prizes.
She is a seventh-grader at South Science Tech school in Lima.
