Spencerville schools to change lighting

SPENCERVILLE — Spencerville schools will partner with Energy Optimizers to upgrade the lighting systems to LED lights, which is expected to save the district $51,000 annually.

Both interior and exterior lights in the district’s K-12 and administrative buildings will be upgraded to efficient LEDs. The new lights will use 60 percent less energy than the old system.

The Ohio Facilities Construction Commission’s House Bill 264 program will fund the majority of the project. This will help the district make the improvements at no expense to taxpayers.
