Local youth sell big, state junior fair

HARROD —Addison Jones and Montana Hulsmeyer sold their market beef projects for tens of thousands of dollars at the Ohio State Junior Fair Livestock Sale, July 26-Aug. 6.

Jones sold her Grand Champion Market Beef Animal to Steve R. Rauch Excavation and Demolition for $50,000. She received $22,000, a cap that is set by the Ohio Expositions Commission. The remaining $27,000 foes to the Youth Reserve Program to be used for 4-H and FFA scholarships, competition awards and support for the two organizations.

Hulsmeyer’s Reserve Grand Champion Market Beef Animal went to hid bidder The Kroger Company for $36,000. She received $11,000 and the rest went to the Youth Reserve Program.
