Four ONU alumni honored by university

ADA — Four Ohio Northern University alumni were honored recently for loyalty to their alma mater and community.

Greg Allenby, Pamela Hershberger, Bruce Hollinger and Richanne Mankey were each presented with a Distinguished Alumni Award during a recent event on campus.

Allenby, a native of Worthington, earned a bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering from ONU in 1978 and is currently the Helen C. Kurtz chair in marketing and professor of marketing and statistics at Ohio State University.

Hershberger, a native of Maumee, earned a Bachelor’s degree in business administration in 1987. She is currently a managing partner at the Toledo-based firm of Ernst & Young LLP and is heavily involved in the Toledo community, serving on the boards for the Toledo Zoo, the Toledo Symphony and the Toledo Community Foundation.

Hollinger, a native of Gainesville, Georgia, earned a civil engineering degree in 1975, founded WiSys LLC, a software company, in 2004 and is currently the company’s chief executive officer.

Mankey, a Defiance native, earned a psychology degree in 1982 and is currently the president of Defiance College, the first woman to serve in that role.
