Vance, Lujan introduce connectivity funding

WASHINGTON, D.C. — Sen. JD Vance, R-Ohio, introduced an amendment to the Federal Aviation Administration Reauthorization Act of 2024 with Sen. Ben Ray Lujan, D-New Mexico, on Thursday.

The amendment would provide $6 billion of new funding to the Affordable Connectivity Program, complete the equipment removal of Huawei and ZTE through $3 billion of funding for the “rip and replace” program and allow the FCC to take back certain spectrum licenses, according to an announcement.
