Woman must clean up Pleasant Township property

KALIDA — A Pleasant Township woman must clean up her property, a Putnam County judge ruled Friday.

Putnam County Common Pleas Court Judge Keith Schierloh granted a judgment for the Pleasant Township Trustees against Ronda Hastings, Kalida, regarding her property located at 17524 Road 8P.

According to court records, Hastings has permitted junk vehicles, noxious weeds, debris and refuse to be located on and or maintained on this property, causing conditions that are dangerous and unhealthy that is detrimental to the health and safety to Pleasant Township. It constituted a nuisance.

On July 14, 2023, the trustees gave Hastings written notice by certified mail that the condition of this property was deemed to be a nuisance and was being kept in violation of the Ohio Revised Code and Pleasant Township regulations. They requested steps be taken to remove the junk vehicles and debris and to properly maintain structures within 21 days of receipt of the notice.

Hastings was ordered to remove all nuisance conditions existing on the premises and to keep the property free from nuisance conditions. If she failed to do so, the trustees were ordered to remove all nuisance conditions at Hastings’ cost and be assessed to her tax duplicate.
