Allen County courts to close for eclipse

LIMA — Judges of the Allen County Court of Common Pleas and Probate/Juvenile Courts have opted to close their respective offices on Monday, April 8, due to an expected influx of people into the county during the solar eclipse that day.

An announcement from Tiffany May, court administrator, said the decision is in accordance with the county’s eclipse preparedness strategy.

May said the closures will not unnecessarily delay any court proceedings. Additional law enforcement, city and county resources will be needed to ensure safe travel around the county for everyone during the solar eclipse.
