Latta wins GOP primary for U.S. House seat

BOWLING GREEN — U.S. Rep. Bob Latta, R-Bowling Green, has won the Republican nomination for his congressional seat representing Ohio’s 5th District.

As of 9 p.m. Tuesday, Latta had garnered 83 percent of the primary vote, gaining an insurmountable lead over Republican challenger Robert L. Owsiak Jr., a Lorain County paramedic who had never previously run for public office. Latta has represented this district in Congress since 2007.

Latta will face off against Democrat Keith Mundy, who ran unopposed in the Democratic primary.
