UNOH to expand mental health services

LIMA — The Ohio Department of Education awarded $168,500 in grant funding to the University of Northwestern Ohio to enhance mental health support services for students on campus.

The university plans to use the grant to support telehealth counseling, which would ensure students have access to care on nights and weekends, and expanded psychological assessments at its campus counseling center, according to a press release.

UNOH also plans to use the funds to build a mental health library and raise awareness of services already available on campus, according to the release.

“This grant is a significant step toward creating a campus environment where every student feels supported and has access to the resources they need for their mental well-being,” UNOH President Dr. Jeffrey Jarvis said in the release.
