Liquid Illumination 2.0

Bluffton University’s Grace Albrecht Gallery will host the art exhibit “Liquid Illumination 2.0” by Sue Hershberger Yoder and Jon Yoder from Aug. 30-Sept. 17, 2023.
Work includes projective illuminations and framed prints on silk. According to the artist’s statement, “The liturgical atmosphere of this installation is intended to acknowledge that, like the simultaneously sacred and superficial qualities of rose windows and illuminated manuscripts, artistic and religious ideologies are also always malleable and open to interpretation.”
The exhibit is free and open to the public. Gallery hours in the Sauder Visual Arts Center are 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. weekdays and 1-5 p.m. Saturdays and Sundays.
PASS National Overdose Awareness Day
5-8 p.m. Thursday at the Lima City Building
Prevention Awareness Support Services (PASS) is hosting the event on the north side of the Town Square roundabout, 50 Town Square in Lima. The event will include food donations, a DJ, resource tables and youth activities.
Confederate Railroad Concert
7:30 p.m. Thursday at the Van Wert County Fairgrounds
Confederate Railroad will perform at 7:30 p.m. at the Grandstand at the Van Wert County Fairgrounds, 1055 S. Washington St., Van Wert. The country music group was founded by Danny Shirley and was the former backup band for both David Allan Coe and Johnny Paycheck.
The Van Wert County Agricultural Society is offering the concert free to all veterans who show a form of veterans identification.
OTHER EVENTS
• Shawnee Commandery Pancake Breakfast: 8-11 a.m. Saturday at the Lima Masonic Center at 2165 N. Cole St., Lima. The annual Labor Day weekend breakfast will offer pancakes, eggs, sausage, and biscuits and gravy. The cost is a $10 donation with tickets in advance or at the door. Proceeds will benefit Shawnee Commandery No. 14 and the Templar Eye Foundation.
• Gymanfa Ganu: 4:30 p.m. Sunday at the Salem Presbyterian Church of Venedocia, 15240 Main St., Venedocia. Following a light supper, the Welsh Festival of Song will begin at 7 p.m.
