Lima man pleads guilty to engaging in corrupt activity

LIMA — A Lima man pleaded guilty to engaging in a pattern of corrupt activity after he was charged with cocaine trafficking and possession.

David Bell, who gave up his right to indictment by a grand jury, pleaded to the first-degree felony with five specifications in exchange for the dismissal of three first-degree felony cocaine charges. He faces an up to 11 years minimum prison sentence or community control.

Bell appeared via Zoom call in court on Friday, where he agreed to forfeit four guns — including an AR-15 — and almost $3,000. He faces an up to $20,000 fine.

Bell will lose his right to own or carry a firearm. Allen County Common Pleas Court Judge Terri Kohlrieser ordered a pre-sentence investigation to be completed before sentencing at 8:30 a.m. on March 30.
