BATH TOWNSHIP — Bath Local Schools held its organizational meeting for the Board of Education on Tuesday evening. Phil White was elected president and Jessica Kelley was elected vice president. Committee assignments were made for athletics, building and grounds, finance, policy, hiring/retention, and bullying prevention. Board meeting dates were also established by the board.
Jared Rex presented a report about Bath Local Schools’ technology. Rex said, “We were able to use funds to replace all of our student devices in grades one through eight with new Chromebooks.” Looking forward, Rex said, “We’re hoping to work within the parameters of our existing funding to deliver the technology plan. Probably the biggest challenge that we face is updated smartboards across the district. We just want to make sure that we do the absolute best we can by our staff and students.”
The next Bath Board of Education meeting will be held Jan. 17 at 7 p.m. Most meetings are held on the third Tuesday of the month with two exceptions, being April 25 and June 27.
