VAN WERT — Van Wert Health will become a full member of OhioHealth, the health system announced on Thursday.
The boards of directors for both health systems approved a membership agreement last Wednesday that will bring the 34-bed Van Wert Hospital as well as affiliated outpatient centers and physician practices into the OhioHealth system, according to a press release from Van Wert Health.
Van Wert Health is the 14th hospital to become affiliated with the OhioHealth System.
Southeastern Ohio Regional Medical Center and Guernsey Health Systems will also become part of the OhioHealth system after last Wednesday’s meeting.
“At our care, we are here to care for the people in our communities,” Van Wert Health interim President and CEO Jon Bagley said in a press release Thursday. “Healthcare is broader than just what happens within the walls of a single facility. This affiliation provides the organizational scale and leadership talent needed to deliver exceptional patient care and to strengthen local access to services.”
