VAN WERT— First United Methodist Church Youth Group is now receiving shoe donations for a mission trip fundraiser until Jan. 7. The Funds2Orgs organization will provide a check based on the weight of the shoes collected to the youth group. The funding will help students raise money for their mission trip to the Dominican Republic.
“We know that most people have extra shoes in their closets they would like to donate to us,” said Teresa Shaffer, Youth Director. “By doing so, we raise money for our missions trips, and we have the chance to help families in developing nations who need economic opportunities.”
To donate, bring gently worn, new and used shoes to First Methodist Church at 113 W. Central Ave, Van Wert.
