Warrant for arrest issued in case of YMCA basketball game assault

LIMA — Quintez Burns, charged with felonious assault for an altercation that took place during a basketball game at the Lima YMCA earlier this year that left one man seriously injured, failed to appear at his jury trial Monday morning.

According to court documents, Allen County Common Pleas Court Judge Terri Kohlrieser put out a bench warrant for Burns’ arrest.

Burns, 28, was indicted in connection with a fight at the YMCA that resulted in “serious physical harm to Preston Patrick,” according to the indictment.

Burns previously failed to show up for a court appearance on May 5, for which a bench warrant was issued. He was later allowed out on bond.
