Celina traffic stop leads to drug arrest

CELINA — A traffic stop in Mercer County resulted in a drug arrest Tuesday, according to a release from Sheriff Jeff Grey.

Deputies stopped a 2002 Dodge truck at 303 N. Main St. in Celina after observing the driver not using the turn signal on multiple occasions. According to the release, the actions of the driver, Michael H. Toler, 49, of Celina, prompted the deputy to call for a drug dog, which alerted the deputy to the presence of drugs.

Toler was found to be in possession of several packages of suspected methamphetamines, as well as a pipe to smoke the substance. Toler was then arrested and is currently incarcerated on charges of possession of a drug abuse instrument, a second-degree misdemeanor. His bond was set at $100,000.

The Mercer County Prosecutor is reviewing the case, with further charges expected.
