Spencer launches re-election campaign

WAPAKONETA — Auglaize County Commissioner Doug Spencer announced Thursday he is running for re-election to a fourth term.

Spencer, 46, is running as a Republican and earned $44,421 last year. He is in his third term of office since first being elected in 2006.

Spencer vowed to “effectively and efficiently” achieve the county’s goals.

“The perpetual foundation for success is executing a vetted vision, investing in Auglaize County’s physical infrastructure and information technology infrastructure, maintaining a discipline of fiscal responsibility, providing proper resources to safeguard public safety, and supporting the Auglaize County Economic Development Coalition in its mission to retain and attract business,” Spencer stated in press release.

The incumbent will face St. Marys Mayor Patrick McGowan in the May 8 primary.
