Lima Memorial Auxiliary sets donation record

LIMA — After various craft sales and raffles, the Lima Memorial Auxiliary donated the largest yearly amount yet of $110,000 to the hospital on Thursday.

“We’ve had a great year, and the gift shop has done great job with the raffle,” said Roberta Brewer, president of the LMH Auxiliary. “I was ecstatic to present the record-breaking yearly total.”

A year ago, the organization made a $500,000 pledge to the hospital, and the recent donation will go toward the renovation of the hospital’s front lobby and the auxiliary gift shop.

In addition to the donation, the auxiliary installed new officers and honored the lifetime achievement of six volunteers.

The honorees were Mary Beth Corderman, Mary Hilleary, Mary Ann Miller, Jerry Miller, Peggy Ruppert and Del Wells. The honor is awarded to volunteers who have been dedicated to the auxiliary for 20 years, with a minimum of 10 years of active volunteer service.

The six honorees collectively volunteered nearly 60,000 hours of service to Lima Memorial Health System.
